The Key West Art and Historical Society & Tennessee Williams Museum are hosting their annual Tennessee Williams Plein Air Painting Contest. How much do you know about the iconic playwright, screenwriter, and longtime Key West resident Tennessee Williams? And how much do you know about his seminal work, A Streetcar Named Desire?
The event will be held on March 1, 2025, with a reception that same evening at the Key West Museum of Art & History. Participants can enter under one of two categories: recreational or professional, each with their own 1st and 2nd place prize of $500 and $250 respectively.
Check-in will take place at the Key West Museum of Art & History on the morning of March 1, where you will have your paper or canvas stamped before taking to the streets to paint (you must supply your own paper or canvas). Completed artwork must be dropped off at the same location no later than 3:00pm.
The show will be professionally juried, and artists will have the opportunity to sell their finished artwork while retaining 100% of the sale price.
