During winter school break, campers will explore the painted woodcarvings of celebrated Key West folk artist, Mario Sanchez. The visual language in his art evokes a nostalgic image of the island’s past.  Paper bag drawings, collaborative art projects, and memorable characters will all be discussed.

  • Dates: December 30-31 and January 2-3 (NO CAMP ON NEW YEARS DAY)
  • Ages: 5-9 years old
  • Instructors: Kassandra Collett and Daisy Connolly
  • Location: Fort East Martello. 3501 S. Roosevelt Blvd. in the Lee Garrison Art Classroom
  • Drop-off (8:45 am – 9:00 am) and Pick-up (3:30 pm – 4:00 pm) will take place on the rear Parade Grounds, rain or shine.

Parents are required to fill out the ArtCamp! Emergency Contact Form and Camper Code of Conduct. If you sign your camper up for multiple camps, only one form will need to be completed.  If you have multiple children attending camp, a form needs to be filled out for each child.

Please pack the items below in a backpack for your camper each day. The bags will be kept in a designated storage area. It is important that all items be labeled with your child’s name.

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Sun shirt and/or hat
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Towel

  • Two SNACKS
