About instructor Zurima Cisneros
Born and raised in the heart of Caracas, Venezuela, Zurima was encouraged from an early age by family, as well as her Venezuelan cultural heritage, to become involved in various performances showcasing Venezuelan and Caribbean folkloric dance, art, and music. Earning her B.A. in Gender, Sexuality, Women’s Studies and a double minor in Sociology and Portuguese at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Zurima cultivated a strong sense of leadership and community.
