What do bananas, the overthrow of a government, and Henry Flagler have in common? Attend Key West Art & Historical Society’s Distinguished Speaker Series on Thursday, April 6 from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Helmerich Research & Learning Center at the Custom House to find out. John Blades, recently retired director of the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, will share tales of Sam Zemurray, the businessman who purchased Flagler’s former yacht ‘Alicia’ to help stage a Honduran revolution to save his banana business and eventually influenced the establishment of the State of Israel.
