School & Family Programs

The Society offers a collection of engaging and exciting education programs for students and families. We provide participatory history and culture-based offerings for students from grades 1 to 8 (ages 6 to 14), offered at multiple locations across Key West throughout the calendar year.  Each program’s curriculum focuses on hands-on, experiential-style explorations and offers interactive camps and classes with themes and topics specifically tailored to each community.

School & Family Programs include:

  • On-site programs at all four of the Society’s museums throughout the year (PK-12)
  • Classroom visit programs lead by Society’s Education Specialist (PK-12)
  • Portable Museum programs utilizing trunks and kits (PK-12)
  • Homeschool Art & History monthly program at Fort East Martello Museum (PK-8)
  • Themed history and cultural multi-day camps at Fort East Martello Museum (1-6)
  • Family Days held monthly at one of the Society’s museums

Henry Morrison Flagler was an American industrialist and founder of Standard Oil. He was also a key figure in the development of Florida’s east coast and builder of the Florida East Coast Railway.

The Society hosts a monthly series of lectures from local and visiting writers, historians, and artists that concentrate on Florida Keys and South Florida topics in the broadest sense.

Recordings of our lecture series is supported by Alloys & Carol Metty and The John &Marilyn Rintamaki Family Trust.
